What You'll Need to Be Successful:

• Completion of a 2-year Radiologic Technology training program (AMA-approved)
• Current CRT (R) (M) and ARRT (R) registration
• ARRT (M) required (new hires/transfers have up to 12 months to obtain and must maintain current once obtained)
• BLS / Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association)
• 1+ year of experience as a licensed mammography technologist (preferred)
• Knowledge of radiation safety practices (patient and operator)
• Strong communication skills and professionalism with patients, the public, and teammates
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform mammography and bone density exams according to facility protocols and radiation practice standards
• Review patient history and provider orders, clarify discrepancies, and document thoroughly
• Operate imaging equipment and select appropriate technical factors using technique charts and safety standards
• Prepare studies for timely interpretation, ensuring accurate image identification and required documentation
• Assist radiologists with needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and galactogram procedures (after training and competency validation)
• Participate in and/or support quality assurance activities for mammography and bone density
• Communicate patient condition changes to appropriate clinical staff and assist with emergency care under physician direction
• Support exam scheduling and contribute to department meetings and in-services
• Work closely with the Lead Mammography Technologist to meet MQSA standards
